I just dropped in a rebuilt 305 in my 81 K5 Blazer. Tossed AIR pump in trash, cut ltubing on both the inside and outsided of the exhaust manifolds, crimped them and rolled them up. Needed to buy a different altenator belt (think it was 15445 at Autozone). Routing the vacuum lines took some clear headed thinking (- the beer).
