I have a Pete Jackson "Noisy" gear drive in my 388. When I drove the Burb daily it didn't bother me at all. I think they sound cool as hell.

My exhaust is way louder than the gears, with 40 series Flowmasters and 3" pipe I would hope so.

I would recommend a gear drive over a timing chain, I hate changing out chains that stretch.
