Yeah,get clips before drilling holes  .I thought I got them with the trim.The trim sits on the tailgate right how it needs to be.I hold it up there and make little marks along the edge where you`ll be using the clips.Check width of the clip against the width of the trim and determine if the hole will be centered or offset a bit(get measurement)from top to bottom.I can`t recall.
