It had to do with the liquor laws between Alabama and Georgia and the
timing of closing state stores and bars. They would drive 166 into Carrollton to buy liquor at Midnight at a NASCAR pace to buy more liquor before closing. Most all of them had Bad Lamps on front an you could see em coming in droves. The Carroll County Sheriffs had a free for all. THey got me one time and I wasn't even drinking. I was going to work. They gave me a ticket for passing 5 cars on a bridge.
Saturdays are very entertaining there. Maybe north of I-20 you must not get them up there. Sorry for the confusion.
