Yes it would. You can raise the control arm pivot points & move the spindles centerline forward @ the same time. The catch is you have to remove the same amount of material from the front frame horns to keep everything the same overall length.

Straight cut is the CORRECT way to go. If the frame is gusseted/plated correctly, it will look like one continuous frame rail.

While I'm no expert, the correct way is to do a well planned, structurally sound job w/quality welds. Other than that, there's no reason that it can't have the "look of one continuous frame rail" w/an angled cut that has been plated similar to a straight cut.
