Question about transfer case
The transfer case adapter I will be using has a fair amount of surface rust and pitting on the area that mates to the transfer case. It appears that there is normally just a very, very thin gasket used in this location.
I don't believe the adapter holds any gear oil so I'm guessing that having that surface completely clean and smooth is not critical.
Is that correct?
