If you're mating this adapter to an automatic transmission, there is some fluid that will enter this coupling. If you'll notice, there are 2 oil seals in the adapter. There is a reason for this. A small amount of ATF will be kept from passing through to the transfer case by these seals, and keep it from leaking out of the adapter by that large "O" ring on the flange of the adapter where it mates to the transmission. I just rebuilt my 205 and put new seals in this adapter last week, so the info is fresh in my brain. Good luck.
