re: other options. I do have a can of carb cleaner. I'll try that. I'm also going by Harbor Freight to see what they have.

The ones I'm thinking of reusing are mainly the sheetmetal type. I'd like to reuse some of the ones I have since they look to be in good shape other than surface rust. Hate to just discard them.
