Thanks. I didn't have to remove the brake line clips, but I have a '72 rear. I also put a few tack welds on the 3" clamps to the axle tubes (on the plate half, not the U-Bolt) to keep them oriented correctly if/when I remove the bar (which I have, and it was nice).

To answer your original question, I think a C-Notch couldn't hurt!
