My guess is that the tranny is a Turbo 350C unit. That is a 350 tranny with a lockup converter. (look for a wire connection on the driver's side of the tranny above the oil pan) These are decent trannies, but the 700R4 will gove you a better RPM on the highway. Odds are the rear end gears will be around the 3.08 gear ratiio and if you decide to go with an OD tranny later the gearing will suck your road worhtiness to death.
