Fender skirts used to be found on a lot of vehicles, from the factory, into the 70's, i.e., Cadillac, Oldsmobile and Buick. Ford seemed to get away from them, except for the Lincoln Town Car, in the 60's. There was aftermarket activity, whether JCWhitney, Honest Charlies, or whoever. Some folks liked them. Some folks didn't. The concept of skirts went back to the late 20's/early 30's and were a strong "gotta have" in the late 40's and into the early 60's.
So, whether or not WE like them now is just a matter of preference and opinion. I have seen skirts on funeral coaches made from Suburbans of the 73-89 era, too. Just seems to be a "dying" trend, so to speak.
