Earlier in my life I drove a 68 with 350/Powerglide. 11 miles to the gallon no matter where I drove it. I hope the current 350/TH400 to get at lest 12mpg. You could get better if you did the 5.3 with all the gizmo's. They do and can run like a striped A$$ ape and have a little econ VS. the Dino carb. I just like mine to consistantly get me where I'm going and don't need the lopety-lope to feel cool about driving a truck.
