i dont know if this could be the culprit or not but years back i had a truck where the spring would kinda move a bit and would make a loud noise like that..apparently there was some thin rubber piece that would sit between the control arm and spring or the spring and frame and that wore out which allowed the noise to occur...
If the spring itself looks good and the control arm bushings look good, then id say that is as good a guess as any
are you sure the motor mount is good and tight?or not broken?and the motor is not slamming down?
