The Reserve...is the lowest price the seller will accept for the item up for sale....but this is not shown. If the sellers max is $110, the seller can start at any price below his reserve such as $19.
Your bid...if the present bid is $50 and you are willing to pay $100, then bid $100 and the price that will show would be $53 or whatever the increments are, because you are at that moment the highest bidder.
Someone else then bids $60...then your bid would automatically go to $63 because you put a max of $100 bid in...it will only go to the next level in this case $63. As long as the other bidders bid below you max bid you will be the highest bid. If someone bids $105...then you lose out because your max bid was $100 and the other bidder has passed you max bid. You have the option of bidding higher if you chose to do so. Once bidders meet the sellers reserve price the post will say..."Minimum bid met" and you will win the item unless someone out bids you before the auction ends. Ok I think I'm getting confused.
