I found a bunch of wide pipe wrap on ebay that I used in my chevelle, it had a foam layer with adhesive on one side and aluminum on the other. It is also good for insulation for heat.

This car has an x-pipe with straight-through style mufflers that dump right before the axle, and it is remarkably quiet in the cab.
