My Sub. had an electric pump installed back by the tank in addition to the mech. It was switched but installed w/ rubber line. The P.O. used it to fill the bowl(s) of the carb after it sat unused for a while. Gas did not flow freely, or as freely as I liked, through it so I took it off. I also like the fact that the engine turns slower with a couple cranks to get a little oil circulating before a 1300 rpm electric choke induced start-up.
However when I had it on the Sub. and it hadn't been started in a month - flick the switch, count to ten, turn it off, turn the key, fired right up.
