Everything that I have owned for quite a while are manuals. I am used to leaving the vehicle in whatever gear I'm in. My truck has no emergency brake currently so leaving it in gear IS the parking brake.
The other day I had a loaner from the Toyota dealership. It took me a minute to figure out how to remove the key because the automatic transmission needs to be in park to remove it. I felt stupid for a little bit. Then I got my car back the next day.
