I know that you can mount the AC unit without having to do anything to the frame, atleast I was able to. I did have to modify the bracket that holds the AC unit on but mine has over 10,000 miles on it. I still don't have it hooked up but it's on my list of things to do. I've read on LS1 tech that there are companies that make different blocks that come off the unit where the hoses fit onto and it's a pretty simple fix. I'll be watching this myself to see what you come up with.
