Yes - street and performance makes a kit to move the a/c compressor to the top. Porterbuilt put one on Kyle's Blazer so you can see pics there. In another build SS68(i think) modified his bracket and used a smaller compressor off of a 2000 silverado and made it work...

I am having the same issue, so i looked into it.
