Did you make sure the alternator is full? That'll help make it louder.

The shorter the glasspacks are, the louder it'll be. Usually you can find 'em in 12's, 18's, 24's, and 30's. I have 18's on my truck with dual 2 1/4" pipes that are 45'ed behind the rear tires and it's loud enough for me. It rumbles at an idle and it really talks when I put the hammer down. If you like the sound leave it alone, that's what i'd do.
