Vet- i cleaned the electrical terminals and ground strap but no difference. i think 31 years of service has just wore it down but thanks for reminding me to try the basics first.

Low'n- i'll keep your Wagoneer motor as a plausable back up idea if i don't find a decent bolt on item. a little effort to make it work dont scare me. i think?!

'71C20- i have never been to that site so thanks for the heads up on it. that set up is nice but too nice for my rig!

i have other items on my shopping list for LMC, but i hate to order a motor from them just to find there's no speed difference. probably do a parts store purchase here, try it and see if performance is increased. Longhorn, if i stumble upon something good i'll pass it on to ya. thanks again guys. -steve
