The two different diagrams shown in this thread are #1 is for a short water pump. A short water pump was used in all of the Trucks, Suburbans, Blazers, and Panels from 1967 to 1972. If the engine that you took out of your 72 Suburban has the #2 style pump and bracket, it is a transplant from either a Chevy car or 73 and lator Pickup, Suburban, or Blazer. It is a pump and brackets for the long water pump. The alternator sets on the passinger side of the moter with that style power steering pump. I will take a picture in a bit to show you how everything goes. WES
