Re: sm465 swap to a nv4500
i used an AA bellhousing that allowed me to use my mechanical clutch, and i purchased a custom TC casing that bolted directly to the NV4500 tailhousing which eliminated both the need for an adapter as well a female coupler. i've read responses from others how time consuming and arguous setting up a custom hydraulic clutch can be, and i'm sure they have there benefits, however i haven't had any problems with my mechanical set up and it was pretty straight forward. just bolting on an overdrive unit would probably be cheaper over a 5 speed swap, but the NV4500's sychronized gears, spacing and OD over the SM465 are worth the extra $$ imo.
