Re: Fuel tanks leaking

You don't have to remove the bed I replaced the driver side tank on my 87 swb. Hopefully your tank frame brackets aren't rotted away, like mine were. I got my new tank from the local pepboys it wasn't that much. I also bought new straps and a new fuel pump. The pump wires unplug but there was one little stubborn ground wire I had to cut and then I just re-spliced it when I installed the new tank. Hardest part is lining the holes up on the frame. You will need a floor jack to hold the tank and brackets up while you try to align. I'm a small guy and was able to do this job with the bed on.
