Can't help on the system info but on the MDF I can. Plywood is good but it's porous which doesn't hold as much air/sound in for more thump. It will leak more than MDF would. Also MDF is much much denser than plywood and particle board. MDF is the only thing people use around here when I was selling the stuff. Also MDF easier to drill and screw into than plywood and particle board. Just make sure to pre-drill to be safe.
