I have used oven cleaner in the past. Just keep away from parts you dont want to clean it will eat the paint. I you don't want the paint stripped don't use oven cleaner.

I did an engine block one time and the outside air spray a mist of oven cleaner on the hood of the truck not good for the paint of the truck that I did not want to strip.
