I can only agree with the others to "not give up". I've done enough of this sort of messing around that I know things always snag. (my wife never believes my time estimates anymore). But as long as you keep in mind that it IS possible, and take the work as you can take it (where you're not forced to finish by a certain date) you'll both complete the project and feel good about it.

Heck, I'd love to have a big block so I'm envious of what you're trying to do.
