None of mine have ever worked either...3 trucks, none ever made a single noise. I am getting ready to install a pump on mine too just like these pictured. I got mine from Wally Wold.
In this picture you can see the Wiper motor, (the part that says Camaro). On top of it you see the white hose connections, that is the pump.
