Wherever you go, make sure to get a complete scope of services, including prices for the work to be performed. Better yet, you provide a detailed scope of work to the shop, so there is no misunderstanding of what needs to be done. Getting a quote that is apples-to-apples is very important. Also, I would check with shops that specialize in vintage vehicles. In closing, I don't think $800.00 is out of line for the amount of work that needs to be done.
