Street tires are fine up to a limit. When you start out with over 1000ftlbs of torque the street tires have no chance...even with a NHRA event prepped track.

The problem I have with the NHDRA is they have a different animal of race car. It started out in the dirt and mud and has migrated to a drag strip.

I have to tune my truck to work for different track conditions. Instead of dieles cranking up their Bullydogs to extreme and getting squirley, they could turn it down and hook...but they would rather smoke the hides the length of the track and brag.
yes i have been there. i went to the one last year in june. somethings dont make sence there... gravel pit area... that was my biggiest thing... then the 4x4 truck pick up the gravel/dirt and track in on the track...

yea 1,000+ tq is alot for small tires.. hence y i got 12.50 wide tires on the truck...

as for your last statement... i think you need to do more more research about them... yes it is stupid esasy to get massive reliable power out of a diesel and bullydog is a basic starter tuner yes soem have not quit grasped the traction issue yet
