Heck no I ain't done! Will I ever be done???

I won't really be "done" until my 283 is rebuilt and installed. Everybody and thier monkey keeps telling me to build a 350. No thanks... A nicely built 283 is a strong reliable engine. In the meantime, I need to rebuild my brakes, my right rear grabs too hard (can't seem to get it adjusted correctly) and I have a leaky cylinder in the left rear brake. My transmission leaks as does my rear main oil seal on the engine. Im not in a big hurry to replace the front drums with disc brakes. Who needs to stop safely anyway?

My distribitor I believe is off a tooth. (At least according to my next-door mechanic) I can't seem to set the timing correctly. My truck is running kinda sluggish, if I retard (or advance, as the case may be) it too much, I have pep but its impossible almost to start when it's warmed up. Guess it's one or the other for now...

As much as I love the older trucks, I am often reminded of the fact that my truck is truly over 40 years old. Getting the bleed valves open on the brakes was a nightmare. I thought I was going to strip most of them or break them with as much pressure I was applying to get them to open up.

Still need to get my rims on too. I'm just waiting for them to arrive. Thanks for the complements!

Later for now, Don
