Most 327 - 2bbl castings were very small port and they do not have accesory mounting holes plus you never know what your getting unless you get them checked and magged first. Old heads have their share of cracks and sunken valves . Don't feel bad. My dad just bought a set of 305 heads that had been opened up for larger valves and had a decent valve job done with new springs and guides etc. seems its the hot ticket for stocker rebuilds these days. With dished pistons he's got 9.3:1 compression and gobs of low end torque and thats exactly what you need in trucks like his with 3.08 gears.
