As some of you may know, I am in the process of gathering parts and slowly working on my K5. I am really not that close to doing the body work, but I still want to be prepared when the time comes...hopefully in a few months. I know I am going to need pretty extensive repairs on at least one side of my blazer, I would like to just change the whole side of the tub. I have found a real nice rust free short bed with steel floor and tailgate that I can get for around $500 that would have all the parts I would need. My problem is I hate to cut up original metal when I know there is someone out there who REALLY needs it. Should I buy this bed, keep the tailgate, and try to trade it to someone for some nice bed/blazer tubsides + some cash? I know alot of y'all will probably just say "buy it and cut it up and do what you want" but I'm pretty sure I could find someone that is in the middle of a SWB project that would really like to have it.
Anyway, I'm just kinda thinking outloud...anybody have any input?
