Someone definately used some kind of sealer between the cab and the seal. It hardened up just like the rubber. It is even hard to cut with a razor blade. I will have to get it all cleaned off and prepped for the new seal and fix the rust hole. I do have access to a mig welder, so that will definately speed up the process. I will be cutting it out tonight and hopefully welding in some new metal. I hope that it isn't all the way over to the mount for the windshield wiper. It is almost directly in front of the windshield antenna. I was hoping for just a quick little change out of the seal, but as any project there was a speed bump. I need to get the truck inspected by the end of May so I will have to pick up the pace a bit to meet that goal! I want to do a quick clean up of the firewall, inner fenders, and fenders. I think that it is possible as long as I don't run into any more surprises!
