I would check the brake adjustment first...then re-bleed.

I usually set-up my brakes with a "one turn drag". Basically, tighten the adjuster all the way tight (this centers the shoes in the drums) then back-off a tooth at a time untill you get a slight drag which gives you a 1 to 1 1/2 turns on the wheel when you spin it....Applying the foot brake helps center things up too.

My 63' needs it brakes re-adjusted as well, now that I think about it
