Re: How to add a tach to a 99 S-10?

Does your truck have a distrubitor?

If it does I just trace the wire from the coil to the distrubitor. Not the wire that is like a plug wire.Just a small little wire.My truck is a 4.3.I then used a little connector where you place both wires side by side and smash a little peice of metal into both of them. Then it clamps down.(common thing at parts stores)

This worked in my 99.As well as a 92 s-10 and my 1990 fullsize.

If it doesn't have a distrubitor you might have to buy a tach adapter as well as the tach.Autometer sells them.

As far as redline I am not sure.Like I said my s-10 is a 4.3.I have my pointer set at 4500.Sure it will go higher but it doesn't make any power up there.Goes faster when you short shift it.
