trim re-furb

Hey gang: I just laid the first clear coat on my tailgate chrome and it makes a world of difference.

First I prepped by using 0000 and 00 steel wool and lacquer thinner to get the old junk off. The chrome looked worse than ever. Cloudy and mottled. Masked and painted the black border. Figured what the hey.

Then on w/ the first clear. There are still some clouds, but they're going away.

Cheap way to dress a "wasted" piece of tail chrome.

The grill was done (over the winter) with flat black under, grey and silver. Lots of masking around the letters. The photo makes it look a lot better than it really does. Call it a 10 footer.

Getting there.
