it fits into the trans, just not all the way because of the weight hitting the trans

swap is very easy, just bolts right in. I did have to drill holes for the crossmember tho. From what I gather, some do and some don't. You will need a different dipstick, a tv cable, a mechanical speedo adapter if you purchase a 700 with electronic speedo sensor, and a relay kit for the torque converter lockup. Also, I would install the constant pressure kit from TCI if you can afford it, just for peace of mind.
