If you have the cover off, rotate the ring gear slowly. Somewhere around the edge you will see a part number, a manufacturing date, and the number of teeth on the ring gear and the number of teeth on the pinion gear. Similar to what I put above. Do the math (41/10=4.10 therefore a 4.10:1 ratio, the pinion turns 4 times for every one revolution of the ring gear.) Every gear set has these numbers. Without fail.
