I'm using a MC off an '85 1/2 ton truck, with stock front disc/rear drum brakes with no power booster. I've very happy with it. Of course it takes more pedal effort than power brakes, but it's not too bad in my opinion. My prop valve is off an '85 S-10 and it works just find. I'd imagine the 1/2 ton and s-10 valves are the same. I was originally gong to use the S-10 MC but the 1/2 ton MC had a larger bore so figured it'd give better stopping power (without the booster). I had ot slightly enlarge the hole where the MC sticks through the firewall, but other than that it bolted right up.
