There really is no fix other than a new liner. Fortunately, they're only about $30. I found out mine was bad because I was getting a rattle out of the door. Upon closer inspection, about 4" of the "hinge" had broken and was just flopping in the wind. The suckiest part of the job is getting the lock/cylinder removed and replaced. I fiddled with that thing for almost 30 minutes getting that out.
