Years ago I had a 3/8 Craftsman ratchet that just wore out, it wouldn't turn in either direction no matter where the lever was. I took it to the local Sears store and they wouldn't exchange it, the wanted to fix it. They took it apart and replaced the gear mechanism. Never worked the same after that. Years later (was overseas and never used them much) I took it to another Sears store and they just gave me one off the shelf. The local store where I live now sends them off and calls you when your replacement comes in. Maybe cause it's a smaller store.
