If you go to Madelectrical.com and read the articles you will understand why I am trying to point out that the one wire set up is not the way to go unless it is on a tractor that doesn't have lights or accessorys or a drag car.
with the 1 wire set up the aternator only puts out a set voltage and will not "scence" that there is a voltage drop downstream at the headlights for instace, and it will not "know" to step up the voltage.
Don't take my word for it and this is not based on my general "opinion" either, just read the articles and you will undestand what i am saying.
