Just a nickel's worth here, but I'd ditch the 305. The restrictive 3 3/4" bore is going hinder the normal gain of what the heads would be worth on another engine. Most aftermarket heads come with a minumum of a 2.02/1.60 valves, and the 305's small bore severely shrouds even 1.94/1.50 valves. 300RWHP is relatively easy to get on a 350 Chevy, even with factory heads. Just something to think about.
