well, the old springs could have been worn to the point that they dropped the height to the same/similar to the new springs.


the new springs could be the wrong the spring rate.
the spindles could be different. one higher, one lower.
the lower a-arm could be different too. one higher spring rest, one with lower rest.

not much else other than that could really be different other than tire/wheel combo, that is, the overall OD.
