Isn't the block that is right under the master cylinder the distribution block?
My thinking is that a disc-drum has bias built in to actuate the brakes correctly, where as the drum-drum doesn't bias it any and therefore will work with a disc-disc setup.
What distribution block (or proportioning valve if that is what its called) are you running Frizzle?
