you could probably weld a patch in it and be good for a few more years, but like alans pic shows the rust is sometimes like an iceberg, what you see is only 10%.
If you really don't want to see the rust again, and or are going for a show truck, compared to a driver, you will have to get a floor pan, and a rocker, and cut and paste until all is gone.
look under the truck right under he rust spot , and see how bad off your inner rocker is..

here is your seat idea in finished form.......
Put a TV and a mini fridge in that truck and you'd never have to get out of it.
