I don't think it's that odd. Most of the right-side body panels on my truck aren't original, but thats because my dad parked it where it got hit by the neighbor's sprinklers nearly every day for several years. It had a hole straight through just above the beltline about 3" tall!
I'll have to ask him where he got the front fender at least...it would explain why the eyebrow has never really fit that well.
