I too have a 220 volt heater and when I only want heat for my area that I am working in like installing the rear gas tank this is what I use ,,I also have a wood stove that will heat all the shop after about 2 hours from starting it ,,, but if I only plan on being out in the shop a hour or less then the electric heater is my choice of heat.. My shop is a metal pole barn style and not insulated so some times its colder in the shop than out side .. papa
