The 700R4 was first available in '82. Trucks got them in '83. The drive ratios are 1-3.06:1, 2-1.63:1, 3-1:1 and 4-0.70:1. They sure are fun to drive. I have a beefedup 700R4 and I love to punish it.
The gear ratios are not the same. The first gear on the 700R4 is lower. Check this page for the ratios on other transmissions.
